![]() Torah Study: "Come and read Torah again for the very first time!" Every Tuesday and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 literally dozens of people gather to rediscover the insight and wisdom found in the Torah and Haftarah portions of the week. No experience is necessary and prior knowledge is not a pre-requisite, as everyone is invited to be a part of this exciting and inspirational weekly discussion. Adult Hebrew and Bar/Bat Mitzvah: Small groups of adults enjoy learning to read and understand our Hebrew prayers and Torah Text. After two years of study, students can choose to participate in an Adult Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremony created and led by the class participants. The Dr. Stanley Lyss Adult Institute: Held during three consecutive Wednesdays in March, our award-winning Beit Sefer Café is an opportunity to learn and socialize with wonderful teachers and members of our community. A wide variety of topics are offered; fine teas, coffees, and desserts are served during the café. Rosh Chodesh Groups: These groups of women meet near Rosh Chodesh, the beginning of each Hebrew month, and provide creative opportunities for women to study, worship, and socialize together. Deutsch Scholar-in Residence: The Fred and Elsie Deutsch Scholar-in-Residence Program makes it possible for Shaare Emeth to learn from outstanding and internationally known scholars of Judaism each year. Tikkun Leil Shavuot: Held on Erev Shavuot, this evening of study, prayer and celebration provides a stimulating opportunity to observe Shavuot - The Festival of the Giving of the Torah. |
